Ribokis 200 mg (Ribociclib)

Ribociclib is taken orally in repeated 28-day cycles. Current U.S. labeling specifies daily administration for 21 consecutive days followed by 7 days without ribociclib. The dose depends on the treatment indication.

General administration principles

  • Take ribociclib exactly as prescribed.
  • Take the tablet once daily during the prescribed treatment days.
  • Ribociclib can be taken with or without food.
  • Take the dose at approximately the same time each day, preferably in the morning.
  • Swallow tablets whole.
  • Do not chew, crush or split tablets.
  • Do not use a tablet that is broken, cracked or otherwise not intact.

Treatment cycle

For early breast cancer, the current U.S. regimen is 400 mg once daily for 21 days followed by 7 days off. For advanced or metastatic breast cancer, the labeled starting regimen is 600 mg once daily for 21 days followed by 7 days off.

Missed or vomited dose

If a patient misses a dose or vomits after taking it, current U.S. labeling states that no additional dose should be taken that day. The next prescribed dose should be taken at the usual time.

Monitoring

Monitoring may include CBCs, liver-function tests, ECGs and electrolytes. The frequency depends on the treatment regimen and clinical circumstances.
